A Time for New Growth
Curious Lotus was founded in 2025 by long-term friends and co-working artists Char Hall and Tina Gray in a small town outside of Raleigh, North Carolina. Both Hall and Gray come from extensive backgrounds in multidisciplinary art and tattooing, as well as both operating award-winning shops of their own on opposite ends of the country for nearly two decades. After relocating to North Carolina in 2020, Char began working with Tina at Shades of Gray in Clayton as well as still maintaining a dedicated client base in California, while Tina began cultivating a new following in Texas along with her long-time clientele here in the Triangle region. After realizing that they both craved the peace and tranquility of a private studio setting Tina and Char decided to nurture that dream until it blossomed into the quiet, secluded and beautifully unique destination where their clients could enjoy a quiet, exceptional tattoo experience and escape from the hustle and bustle of the traditional shop environment.
A Perfect Habitat
While on the hunt for the ideal space to set down new roots Tina and Char had the opportunity to partner with Mandy McNulty, a fellow creative and owner of local Community Arts Collective Artmosphere. Artmosphere was founded in 2018 and is housed in the historic Walter R. & Eliza Smith Moore House, c.1835, located in the Cleveland area of Clayton. Artmosphere CAC’s purpose is to build relationships within the community using the arts as a bridge. The Arts Center functions specifically to encourage enrichment of the arts of various forms within the community. The Arts Center opened in 2018 in order to provide space to create, participate in, support, learn and view arts through offering workshops, classes, studio space, clay studio, music lessons, event space, an interactive community type garden and a gallery. We are open to the entire community of all ages and skill levels. We have opportunities to book the property for small-scale events and meetings. We have annual free outdoor community events featuring live music and artisan vendors.
A community that includes the arts as an outlet for creativity can help provide individual and community well-being with reduced stress, promotion of positive health behaviors, self–efficacy and development of a shared identity. There are opportunities to create partnerships within the community through bonding, awareness and possible fundraising. Artmosphere CAC is a place to make connections and grow as a person and a community. Register for our art classes, attend our events, shop in our local artisan gallery and more here at ARTmosphere Community Arts Center.
